What's new

Colour

Aligned with the Queensland Government Brand Book, the primary colour is blue. We have expanded this into a monochromatic scale of tints and shades optimised to be accessible and effective on digital interfaces.

Logo lockup

Aligned with the Queensland Government Brand Book, the logo lockup now includes both the Coat of Arms and the new wordmark (in most cases).

File usability improvements

Since the last minor version release (v4.5.0) we’ve also published numerous hotfixes in file to improve the experience for designers and collaborators.

All components - Components and their guidance have been brought together on their own dedicated pages.

Banners - Corrected spacing heading and abstract to 24px to match documentation specs of spacing between text elements at XL-LG breakpoints.

Card footer - Corrected the Card CTA icon from 16px to 20px for the LG-XL variant.

Footer

• Corrected email icon colour from Neutral/Black to Light/Action/Secondary. Components affected: XS (Mobile), MD (Tablet), LG (Desktop and Vertical Navigation XL), XL (Desktop).
• Updated all footer element spacing to align with documentation.
• Updated Footer copyright date, was 1995-2024 to 1995-2025.
• Updated main component naming for consistency and to add context for component property titles, component searching, and library publishing.
• Added auto-layout and max/min widths for responsive design improvements.
• Updated the component variants' breakpoint widths to align with the header.
• Combined separated variants into a ‘Footer-base’ component set and updated layer names for consistency to enable batch editing (where possible).
• Merged 'icon only' social media links component (formally called Footer-base) into the 'social links' component.

Global alert

• Corrected text and icon colour to Neutral/Darkest for critical and general alerts.
• Fixed issues with auto layout and dismiss icon states.
• Header - Search box updated to outlined variant.

Input fields base component (Select, Text input , Text area - filled variants) - Updated focus states to be visually consistent across all variants.

List item - Spacing updated to 12px for consistency across related components to align with documentation.

Logo (Qld Government Crest) - Fixed stretching of the crest due to pixel snapping.

Menu item

• Corrected activehover colour background to (Light/Background/Alt).
• Updated heading divider padding to reflect documentation.

Mobile nav buttons - Corrected left padding on XS-SM to 12px (16px with the left border included).

Navigation (Mobile and Tablet) - Updated naming of variants to reflect the correct application in the code base.

Navigation pages - Updated main component naming to be consistent across navigation pages and add context for component property titles, component searching, and library publishing.

Pagination (Page Item) - Updated border radius from 3px to 4px to align with the pixel grid.

Inputs (Select, Text input , Text area)

• Fixed border colour on focus to Neutral/light for consistency across both light and dark backgrounds.
• Updated gap spacing to be 8px for consistency with Radio and Checkbox components.

Site title - Updated all typefaces to Noto Sans.

Tags

• Cleaned up the tags component layout.
• Updated the variant naming to align with documentation.
• Updated the tag gap to 8px.

Text link - Leading icon: fixed dark mode icon from XS(16) to MD(24) to align with the other variants.

Validation message base component (Select, Text input , Text area)

• Updated alignment so that the validation icon is aligned to the centre of the first line of text.
• Corrected errors with component naming and missing properties.
